Revolution Mentoring

(download)

The Mentoring program is essentially Jerry working directly with you and/or your team. Jerry will structure your "mentorials" (mentoring sessions, lessons, and other activities) based on his initial assessment of your needs — using strategies, tools, and procedures like:

  • Screen sharing
  • Conference calls
  • Lesson plans
  • Frameworks
  • Code Reviews

Typical deliverables based on your needs could include . . .

  • Initial Assessment (with ball-park budget)
  • Current Code Analysis
  • Workflow Recommendations
  • User Interface Audit
  • Review of Multi-platform Issues
  • Optimal use of menu bars and short cut keys
  • Framework Recommendations
  • Code Stubs

The end result of all this goodness and elbow grease?

Assuming your goal is a completed app, you'll have on your desktop an executable that will run on Windows (XP/Vista), Mac (OS X) and/or Linux. It will be built to best practices with excellent coding standards. You will be in possession of an ASSET that can be deployed to users inside your company — or, sold to either end-users or saavy investors looking to make a killing in the lucrative cross-platform application marketplace.

How does the mentoring program work?

Fees:

  • When we do strategic work for corporations and funded startups the rate is $200 an hour. Someone using this level of mentoring would not need to use much of it. It is highly-leveraged work on strategy, workflow, design. Not much coding.
  • That same strategic mentoring is made available at half the cost ($100/hr) if the project is not funded. You would need to make visible our participation in the project. This helps us get more mentoring work.
  • Longer term mentoring where we write some basic code to get you or your developer pointed in the right direction is $85/hr.
  • We had a monthly program at one time. That has been free for some time now. You just watch/read the lessons on this site and subscribe via Posterous or Twitter to keep up.

Booking Time:

  • Mentoring time is purchased in 1-hour blocks, and pre-paid, via PayPal.
  • CLICK THIS LINK to submit a Request for Personal Mentoring. In the body of the email, be sure to describe your mentoring needs.
  • When we receive your request, we'll email you our Standard Mentorial Agreement, listing these terms and our recommended and required software for long-distance learning — along with a PayPal link for you to purchase one or more 1-hour blocks.

Scheduling Procedures and Minimums:

  • You must purchase at least one 1-hour block before mentoring services can begin.
  • When you complete your PayPal purchase, your time will be booked.
  • Once you've scheduled a mentorial, you'll receive an email confirmation that includes the telephone number to call on the day and hour(s) that you have pre-booked.
  • Your pre-paid fee is NON-REFUNDABLE – so, be sure to call-in during your scheduled time (even if you are late). Jerry Daniels will be available for the entire period that you have booked.

Ongoing Services:

  • After your pre-paid blocks are completed, if you wish to continue services, email us to purchase more time.
  • You should schedule your pre-paid time as soon as possible. Mentoring time not used after 30 days through no fault of Rev Mentor is forfeited.
